While combing your hair you might have wondered how does hair grows? So let's find the answer of this question
There are many different types and sizes of hair in our body so, does it mean that there are different types of ways for growing of hair, is it so? The answer is no because, no matter in what part of body is your hair, the whole process of growing hair gets starts under our skin. Under the skin, there are tube-like tiny holes called hair follicles and each hair follicles contain a hair bulb which has active hair growing cell made up of protein. Blood vessels in the skin gives nutrients to the root of the hair through small blood vessels to give cell growth which allows the hair to grow. As the hair begins to grow it pushes itself out of the root and out of the follicles, and it get breaks breaks through the surface of the skin. Finally, you can see the hair. The visible part of the hair is called 'shaft'.
In the above paragraph I told you that hair follicles contain hair bulb which has active hair growing cell. That means the hair strands has living cell. So if hair contains living cells, we should get pain while cutting it, isn't it? The question is right but the sentence is not correct. The answer to this question is as follows - Once the hair is at skin surface the cells within them will not be alive. So the hair will have dead cells, and that's the reason why we do not get pain while cutting it.
