For many several decades, we are taking advantage of a facility. By just clicking a button we are doing our work, no need to go anywhere we can do our work sitting. So, which facility is this that is helping us too much? This facility is our digital service. It’s the digital services which have brought the world near us. So now let’s know about digital services.  Let’s first understand the meaning of digital, so digital refers to the usage of electronic devices such as mobile phones, computers, laptops, tablets, etc. And, as you may be knowing service refers to the action of giving help. So digital services refer to the electronic delivery of information including data and content across multiple platforms and devices like web or mobile.

Uses of Digital Services

Nowadays, digital services had became a part of our life, they are used in everything and in all different fields. Well, I guess there is no field where digital services are not used. And, after the pandemic, the use of digital services had been increased. Now, let's look at some of the main sectors where digital services are used:

One of the main uses of digital services is education through online mode, i.e., different software, websites, applications, etc. The internet has become a big platform for students to learn sitting at the home. It has helped students to learn new things out of the syllabus and even more. It is easy for students to learn through digital services as this supports them in understanding the latest technology, and animation, and as people say that it is easy to remember things by seeing them, but not only by hearing them.  Digital services have also helped teachers to teach students through smart boards, videos, etc.

The oldest entertainment and media service is our television (TV). On TV we watch all the programs, serials, cartoons, news, sports, and many other things. But now the position of TV is taken by the latest digital services. Now we can see all the programmers on other electronic devices with the help of digital services. With the help of technology, the programs are telecasted on several apps, websites, etc. and we can even watch these programs on phones, which is a big advantage as phones can be carried anywhere, and we can see the shows anywhere.

 

With the help of digital services, the news reporters get the news and then they go there to take the report. Digital services not only help news reporters but also the people. Through the help of digital services, we can see the news on our phones, computer, laptop, etc. So, digital services are used in entertainment and media.

Shopping and Banking

Nowadays for shopping also we needn’t move by just going on some websites or application and searching for the item you need and then clicking to make payment. This is how we are shopping now, no need to move, by just sitting and taking a chill we can do shopping. Some examples of online retail websites are Amazon, Flipkart, Big Basket, Myntra, and many others. The specialty of online shopping is that we can get a to z items here.

 

Just take a look at the sentence that I talked about how we do shopping nowadays. The last line is – clicking to make payment. That means banking is also used as a digital service. Online banking allows us to manage our finance, check our bank accounts, and transfer money. Here also, we do not need to visit a bank, only by sitting at home we can do all these.

 

Healthcare

The biggest achievement in digital service is healthcare, the most emergency and serious case or we a say a war between life and death. So, if any disease, accident, etc happens to a person he can simply call an ambulance to the hospital. But is this only the digital healthcare service? No, many things come under healthcare digital service. With the help of these services, we can do healthcare tests by sitting at home and using a gadget. For example, in the corona pandemic, many sites were created that checked whether a person is a corona -positive or negative.

 

Social Media and Communication

Digital services have also helped us in maintaining communication with our relatives and friends. Some social media are WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc. These sites create a network with our friends, and we can share our views here. Life events, stories, videos, photos, and many more. With the help of these services, we can keep in contact with our friends and message them.

Social media is a type of communication, but there are many other platforms for communication. In the early days, there used to be only voice calls but now, there are video calls also which not only help us to talk with our friends but also see them.

The importance of digital services is to ease the life of human beings. The services have helped a lot, by just sitting at a place we can do our work without moving. As you may know that everything has a positive and a negative effect, like that, these digital services have some bad effects if we use them with bad intentions. So, it depends upon us to use these digital services in a good way or in a bad way. Nowadays, many people are using digital services in a bad way to gain money from others, illegally.
